In this all-new film, Daniel Chenin, principal architect of Las Vegas architecture and design firm Daniel Joseph Chenin Ltd, takes viewers through the design process behind creating his family’s dream home at Ascaya.

In the film, Daniel explains that Ascaya’s design guidelines encourage great architecture that complements the surrounding desert environment – such as optimizing striking views every chance one gets. Daniel mentions that these design guidelines – never design “rules” – challenge architects to find solutions that make sense within the context of the region, yet still offer an experience that one won’t find anywhere else. 

“What’s great about Ascaya is that it’s “design guidelines,” it’s not “design rules,” and they are written in such a way to promote great architecture that is inspired by the desert. The entire community was extremely supportive of the process. They really want to promote good design, and they want to challenge the designers to come up with solutions that are atypical but also of the context of the region and of the desert.”

For Daniel, it was important to his family that they found a strong sense of community in the place they lived in – which he quickly found at Ascaya – where his family can grow, evolve, and cultivate the lives and homes of their dreams.
